For my English speaking friends

I know, many of you are reading my blog theese days after we met in Udine and I know my blog in English is totally outdated and it's a missed promise to you and to me.

Please pardon me but I hope, as some of my older friends are doing once in a while, you will return here from times to times and try to grasp my feelings, my thoughts and my life even though it is written in Italian.

In this way you can have a rough idea about "what's Gigi doing" and when we will meet again (and it will happen for sure, someday, sometimes) we will restart our talks as they were never interrupted.

Happy Birthday!

Today it is Steve Meyer's birthday, great friend and maestro in security, networking and many other things.

He lives in Colorado Springs and we spoke on the phone (he does not use Skype for security reasons) and we laugh about the many years we have in common.

We spoke also about this blog: it is true, he reads it regularly and if it makes sense he comments and suggests.

As Antonio Santangelo said, you have to get "in and out" from the network, moving from analog to digital, to give a meaning to both spaces.

Use the blog to catch moments that could vanish and that we can't share in the same instant and meet in person or talk directly not to lose the sense of what we are.

This is the paper I wrote for the ISSE conference that will be held in Rome next October. It is my monomaniac claim: local governments are a vulnerability for the network, they manage important information and they should protect it.

The government is about to change in Italy, will they listen? I hope so.

It's almost spring in Sesto

I was in Sesto, the place where my heart rests, this weekend because I have to vote in my hometown and  it is a simple pleasure to wlak around with silence in a sunny day.
The snow melts and shows green fields and flowers that are about to wake up.
What to say?
Nothing.
Just let the magnificent mountains to talk.

Comment of April 30..... this is the situation after a snow storm last night. Spring decided to wait a little bit more...
